Our word hunt around our school today was a huge hit! We discovered some new words, recognized some popcorn words from last year, and learned new letter sounds.
We investigated and traced pumpkins at our science center, sorted numbers, continued working on our fine motor skills and had a blast with our new sensory goo! Thanks Mrs. Gogo for bringing that in!
During our outdoor play we learned about colours and had a blast playing parachute games with our friends!
Welcome to our third week of school! We are looking forward to meeting all of you tomorrow night at our annual school meet and greet.
During Language this morning, we read the book, “The Day the Crayons Quit” and had a classroom discussion about colours. Over the next few weeks, our friends will have plenty of opportunities to engage in many hands on activities and experiments revolved around our colour exploration. We will also be starting a new classroom “colour project” and we would be very grateful if anyone would be willing to donate or contribute to our “loose parts” collection. Below is a list of some of the materials we will need:
coloured...
.buttons
.pasta
.pom poms
.paint chips
.stickers
.beads
.letters
.feathers
.balloons
.ribbons
.sparkles
In Math we have been focusing on number recognition and counting. This is the most crucial component of Math. It is important for our friends to learn how to count and understand what each number means. We are currently focusing on numbers to 5 and 10 and are practicing new ways to represent these numbers (loose parts, 10 frames, number lines, etc).
I hope you all have a wonderful evening and I will see you in the morning!
Love,
Ms. Ryan
